The Opportunity:

As the Cloud Security Lead at Port of Newcastle, you will be at the centre of safeguarding and strengthening the organisation’s technology environment, with a strong focus on cloud security, operational resilience, and infrastructure performance. You will take the lead in maintaining and enhancing a secure, stable, and high-performing cloud and on-premises ecosystem, ensuring critical systems remain protected and available. 

Working within a collaborative IT team, you’ll contribute to both strategic security initiatives and day-to-day operational support, balancing proactive improvements with responsive problem-solving. With broad exposure across infrastructure, security, and business systems, this is an opportunity to influence how technology enables safe, reliable, and efficient operations across the organisation.

What you will bring:

You bring strong experience across cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity, with a focus on securing and supporting environments such as Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. You are confident managing identity and access controls, monitoring systems, and responding to security risks while maintaining performance and availability. 

Your approach is hands-on and proactive, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, support disaster recovery and continuity planning, and continuously improve security practices. You work well across teams, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and take ownership of outcomes in a dynamic environment. Relevant certifications and experience with security tools, automation, and infrastructure management will support your success in this role.
